SHIMA' of Navajoland — Shima
SHIMA Awarded Green Business Certification!
Green Green certification Shima
We are proud to be certified as a green business, a really really green business! It was work, and we had to make a few changes to our products and process to comply. We do miss the fleece blankets, but they weren't green enough, so you can still find them at the flea markets! You know now that everything you buy from SHIMA' is held to the highest scrutiny and excellence - from our choice of raw materials to our use of natural resources. Please visit their website at www.greenbusinessnetwork.org.

The blue corn is as high as an elephant's eye this week at Good Shepherd Mission at 7200 feet above sea level. Good thing, since the night time temperatures in mid-September are dropping into the 30's. The ears are filling out, the silk is drying - but good signs that the corn is close to maturity. We plan to harvest in a couple of weeks - so now, it is a race against time. Which will win? Will it stay warm enough for the corn to finish out to maturity? Or will the night time freezes force us to harvest...
