Making juniper ash for our blue corn soap

juniper ash is burned, sifted, and added in small amounts to our blue corn soap - just as we add it to our blue cornmush or cornbread.  It is highly alkaline and deepens the blue color - it also adds nutrients . Or makes them more available - from protein to B vitamins. take a look at this informative article at navajorecipes.com

Hello. This is a facinating idea…im trying as an amatuer soap maker in israel to make a jewish blue and white soap. I’m trying to find natural ingredients for the blue. If i were to try this can you give me a tip on where to add the corn and ash? Into the lye ,oils,or after the two are mixed?
    All the best
